I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for the Cortex

Since our last post, Superchips selected another winner for the Jeep Jamboree drawing.

Congratulations to Erick B. of Vallejo, California.

Be sure to enter the contest for your chance to win passes. The final drawing is August 31, 2010.

But, Erik isn’t the only one who is pleased with Superchips. Check out these two reviews pulled from the Superchips Forum.

“I recently bought a used 2009 Dodge Ram. I gave it the K&N cold air intake and the cortex programer. I was very surprised at the results.
Factory Stock 15-19 avg mpg. Now, setting the cortex in 87 octane mode 17-19 around town and an amazing 23-25 on highway no heavy loads.”

“The Cortex 3950 has made my dakota a whole new animal. The extra power is very nice and seems to work in well with my intake and exhaust, but best of all is how it imporved my shifting pattern. I have 32″ tires on my truck and the shifting pattern was off and very annoying. I put in the 87 octane tune, selected correct tire size and selected the superchips torque managment option. Big difference, the truck does not upshift when going up hills anymore. It now shifts properly and smoothy. The power is always there now as well no matter what rpm. Cant wait to try the tow tune with the camper. Well worth the money.”

“It was really easy to install the Cortex, it took me around 10 mins. I couldnt wait to test this thing out. The Cortex really works well, the shift are strong and fast. I took the Escalade up to 125 with the chip. It also makes the truck sound louder. I have a K&N cold air kit and a borla exhust. This superchip really makes a big difference! Thanks…”

“Programmer is easy to use and update through the internet. Instructions are few but the programmer operates itself almost.”

—Danny V. (Gallatin, TN) on his 2010 Ford Ranger

“I recieved my Cortex and did what the instuctions said. I went to Superchips to download their package to do updates to the Cortex. Went to tune my 6.7 cummins and kisked out an error code and would not download anything. After contacting SC they told me to update the Cortex again and after that the Coetex has worked as expected!I use the Tow Tune and after a 1000 mile trip that I do 4 times a year , my milage increased by 1.4 mpg ,the extra power was just what my 3500 Megacab needed! If you are looking for MPG’s this should help, and the extra horsepower comes free !”

Additional Dodge Coverage

Tired of hearing all the great perks of installing a Superchips tuner, only to find out your truck isn’t supported by the models? Well, those days of frustration are history thanks to the addition of the 2009 Dodge Ram 4.7L V8 Flashpaq and Cortex tuners. Both tuners still deliver the impressive horsepower and torque Superchips is known for, but with the improved drivability and performance that driver’s have craved.

Souped Up London Cab

The famous London Cab is going through some changes as the company that produces it is now owned by the Chinese carmaker Geely. A Superchips tuner registed that the Cab put out 103 hp at 3,479 rpm and 265 Nm at 2,622 pm. But, after tuning the engine control unit, the cab posted 127 hp at 3,479 rpm and 339 Nm at 2,352 rpm.

The Superchips also improved fuel efficiency by a whole 10%.

“The Cortex Programmer wake up my denali XL.It is like a new truck, alot of power, up to 125 miles on a 1/4 tank of gas.”

Posted on 03/31/2010 by Michael D M. – 2005 Nissan Titan (Dallas,TX)

“I compared chips and prices for months, I chose this one for a few reasons. 1. Customer service. There is a help desk at you disposal. 2. You can download new versions every time they become available. 3. Ease of programming. I bought an air intake, throttle body spacer and the Cortex all at once, I didn’t see much difference with the air intake and throttle body spacer, but after the Cortex remap download, WHAT an acceleration difference! The chip remaps your vehicles shift points, a dual exhaust muffler is next. I also noticed less gas being used. Intake, throttle body spacer, exhaust and chip all need to be added to see any acceleration difference, in my opinion. You won’t see much of a difference in acceleration without the chip, this is probably the reason for the steep price.”

“The SuperChips web site needs a lot of work to up date, but once you get it updated it was easy to install on my F-350 and then put it back to stock then install it on my Mustang GT. Will most likely buy another one so we can have it on both vehicles at the same time”

Posted on 03/27/2010 by Alejandro M. – 2009 Chevy Silverado (Pasadena,TX)

“After 10 minutes on the internet updating the programmer it only took 3-5 minutes of actual installation time and the performance was immediately noticeable and I’ve programed it for 87 octane(had a full tank of 87). But when it gets refuled I will use 93 octane and re-progam it for optimal perfomance. Great product and it does live up to the hype. You have to give it a shot!”
